What to do in Punta Cana and Bávaro: one or two days from your hotel

From a hotel in Punta Cana or Bávaro, you can alternate a quiet day near the coast and another in Cap Cana. This plan does not require visiting all attractions: for just one day, choose the beach or the park depending on your group.

Day 1: Bávaro coast and lunch in the shade

In the morning, choose a stretch of coast with authorized and confirmed access from your accommodation. Take a short walk, without assuming you can cross other resorts or use their facilities. Check the sea conditions; a postcard landscape does not guarantee swimming conditions.

Reserve midday for lunch and resting in the shade. In the afternoon, keep a nearby and flexible plan. With children, confirm bathrooms, shade, and return before leaving; do not fill the day with travel.

Day 2: Scape Park as an option, not an obligation

The park is in Cap Cana and houses Hoyo Azul. Check tickets, included activities, and transport: some packages may offer pickup only from certain hotels. Do not buy a second transfer without checking. A visit to the park can take up the day; do not combine it with Saona.

Its FAQ warns of uneven trails and activity restrictions. Check age, height, and health conditions directly, including for children. Hoyo Azul is not a shallow kiddie pool; follow staff instructions and do not force water activities or ziplines. The alternative is another day of coast and rest.

What you will find at Scape Park

The park includes Hoyo Azul, a turquoise cenote, and the Farallón cliff. It also has botanical routes, orchid gardens, and cave networks.

Activities include ziplining, horseback riding, and buggy tours. Select options suitable for your physical condition. Admission is general and is not split by attraction.

Requirements prior to your booking

Verify height, age, and health restrictions for each activity before booking. Not all attractions are suitable for all visitors.

Confirm in writing the cancellation policies and measures for weather conditions.

Equipment preparation

Bring sunscreen, closed-toe shoes suitable for uneven terrain, and, if you wish, a dry bag.

Keep in mind that trails can have inclines and do not always facilitate the use of strollers.

Organize transport and budget

For premium private transport, we recommend PalmHop, with a verified driver and fixed price upon booking. Check availability for the exact route before relying on the service; agree separately on outbound, return, potential stops, and waiting times. The transfer does not automatically include a guide, tickets, or boat.

Still need tickets? Contact PalmHop as far in advance as possible: we can offer guidance and help you obtain them through the relevant venue or provider. PalmHop helps with tickets but does not sell them. Availability, booking deadlines and entry requirements depend on each provider; our assistance does not guarantee tickets or admission, and tickets are not included in the transfer.

Compare transport, tickets, meals, accommodation if necessary, and excursion extras separately. There is public transport in the country, but a direct connection from your hotel is not confirmed here: verify terminals, connections, and the last service with the operator before choosing it.

Before leaving: booking and alternative plan

Confirm meeting place and time, actual duration, inclusions, cancellation conditions, and organizer contact in writing. Bring water, sunscreen, suitable footwear, and saved offline bookings. If there are weather alerts or closures, postpone the outing; a place described in a guide is not necessarily open that day.

Keep part of the afternoon free for the return and do not link the excursion with a tight flight connection. If you only have one day, choose a single day from the itinerary instead of compressing both.

Frequently asked questions

What should I do if I only have one day?

Choose a beach day or a visit to Scape Park, not both with an island excursion. Arrange your return before leaving.

Does the ticket allow everyone to do all activities?

No. Confirm the included activities and their age, height, and health restrictions directly with the park.

Is transportation included with the ticket?

It depends on the package and the pickup hotel. Check this before booking separate transportation.
